Hi Folks
I'm new to the forum so thought I'd start with a Gs 1200 2014 water cooled issue... I've had an intermittent issue with the gs for the last 2 weeks . Bought a bike scan 100 pro to help resolve. It pointed to the RHS (as you sit on) air butterfly. The symptoms were revving @ 2k rpm at idle and no power. so took the unit off and opened up to find furry corrosion and oxidisation and water. Opened it all up and cleaned it out resembled. all good now ...a wee test wide should tell if its solved ....Not a great start with this 14 plate :-( Wished I'd taken some photos now. Is this a common fault ?

Had a RH throttle butterfly issue on my 14 plate but just after the engine / gearbox was replaced under warranty at around 5k, I suspect mauled by the BMW technician rather than coincidental fault?
 
I've nothing constructive to add other than I shall bite the leather strap, brace and pay for a £0 excess extended warranty during my GS ownership. I'm wondering about an older Guzzi with carbs for the shed.
