HID bulb change

Hello some advice please R1150 GS headlight bulb change to HID, managed to replace bulb on dipped beam side but main beam side seams impossible to get at from back also wanted to change side light bulb for LED. Is it easier to drop whole unit out if so how do I release the auto adjuster assembly on the back bottom left.

Hi I did my head lights take screen and front cover off unscrew head lights and take them out easy job good luck

Hi yes have screen and front cover off didn't want to upset light adjustment I was hoping to get both units out in one rather than individually, thanks will take another look

The lights will go back in exactly the same place. There is a plastic ball and socket on the right front (as you look at the bike). Pop this and undo the 2 screws on the side. When you replace it all and pop the ball back in the socket, all will be as before.

You will find you have to change adjustment anyway once you have fitted HID to lower lights slightly or will be dazzling oncoming traffic.

Yes all done what a difference have also changed side light bulb to an LED its blue have googled legalities of this and seems to be OK any feedback on this would be appreciated thanks.

Illegal and lots of examples of people being nicked, on the spot fines and being forced to correct in several Euro countries, most notably Austria.

As long as it's continuous blue it's OK - flashing blue would get the cops pulling you over

Oh and Jeremy ... I now blame you for my 1150 GSA being sat in the garage with the screen off, lights dangling and waiting for postie to bring me that long-time promised LED side light

Yes mine has been doing some for the past two days did not want to take it apart again to change side light I have a spare blue one if postie no show.

I think the same goes for HiDs in Austria too...
