Does the WC have a hidden "mode" like the S1000rr ?

OK for clarification the S1000 RR has several Modes accessable to the rider and when i was at hilltop last year Geoff showed me how to access a secret mode that unleashed more of everything ! I cant remember how he did it but it involved fiddling with switches and ignition in some sequence so what i was wondering was has the Toilet got the same sort of Hidden or secret mode !
The HP4 has a plug in chip, inserted after the initial 600 mile running in period. It unlocks the bike's 'slick' mode, turns on the electronic suspension's additional settings and enables the bike's 'launch control'. The launch control is limited to I think 6 launches within a set time period to avoid over cooking the clutch, not least as it holds the bike at 8000 RPM before setting off.
I tried it out on mine. It works and it's bloody quick. Do not do it between sets of traffic lights.

If the S1000rr has a hidden mode then I don't want to know about it.....plenty fast enough for me!
I've got an HP4, wasn't aware that the slick mode plug did anything more than enable the slick mode. Less traction control, ABS etc.
Slick mode isn't available before the chip is inserted. If you had scrolled through it would not have lit up. Similarly the self set suspension settings were not available. I have no idea if it goes away if you then take the chip out, as I haven't tried.
Do have a go with the launch control, if only to satisfy your curiosity. Any empty straight road will do.

I can't believe I've had the bike for nearly a year and not tried launch mode. Probably need to admit it's all a bit much for me....

Your referring to "slick +" which is a mode the factory use for tweaking the DME control unit for the other mode settings. It's not an extra ride programme
I would be very nervous of dumping the clutch at 8000 rpm and very fearfully that the launch control would not work so fair play to those who have had the nads to give it a go
That would be the one I suppose so does the toilet have it or similar

In reality it's not as you imagine it might be. Yes it's quick (natch) but it's not scarey. Just make sure it's tried out on an empty road with no side entrances...... preferably no roundabout, either.

As you can see, the bod in the video did it all without mishap in just a few hundred yards. Though he did make a lot of extra noise, unnecessarily. All in all, not the greatest example but it shows the rev's held at 8k automaticaly.

You can hear the pop as the quick shifter kills the ignition for a fraction of a second.
1200 GS's with the Shift Assist will be much the same
PS As pointless on the road, as tits on a bull? Yes, of course it is.... But quite fun, just the same.
I think that my bike has a small loose chip fastened under the seat that can be clipped into the loom to achieve something or other that I'm sure to be enlightened about very soon. I think that it is to do with an added enduro mode?

I think you are right.
If you plug in the coding plug (page 65) you do indeed get the Enduro Pro mode, AND if you alter the standard riding modes these alterations will be saved when the ignition is turned off. Without the coding plug in place the riding modes revert to the standard set up. Well that was the case with my 2013 TE.
