High mileage LC

1850 miles ain't bad considering he can't have had the bike for more than 2 months and a month of that must have been crap weather - 1000 miles a month is more than most on here manage - half of the 'hard case' 1150 owners chicken out and put the bike away for the winter so don't knock it.

P.S. I am now up to 2,000 miles in two months

The Op merely asked a question/ started a thread.

I'm sure we are all interested to hear when the serious mileages start coming in, nothing in OPs posting suggested he was after the record.

Petrol sales in the UK are at an all time low as motorists are put off leisure/pleasure miles. When I had my F650gs last year it was costing me a fortune in fuel (as I couldn't stay off the damned thing). I hope the LC has the same affect on its owners, I strongly suspect it will.

I was with the BMW Club at Riply last night and an LC owner was showing us his Grey TE - it looked and sounded fabulous, he was absolutely over the moon with it. I nearly tripped over my own tongue!

What I posted was meant as light Hearted to show how much I am enjoying my new bike, many thanks for your replies.
I got the bike 5 weeks ago to replace my 15k 2012 triple black. It's also in my opinion the most fun BMW I've owned out of the last 16.
I cover approx 15 to 20k miles year including to work and at least 1 European trip each year. i am of soon to the south of France, can't wait. I also ride to waitrose for my shopping

I wonder if these trolls are brave enough to be this obnoxious in the real world? I pity their friends and families.

You carry on, sounds like you've taken the replies in the way they should be taken and not got your knickers in a twist :thumb

I think you'll find in real life they're are actually a lot worse. Attend a GSer event and have the piss ripped out of you. It's pretty painless ;)

And i'm sure the OP will thank you for being offended on his behalf. :thumb2

I bet most of them never get it. With yourself does not count.
Only generalising.

............ My 1200adv clocked up 26000 in its first year and managed 1475 miles in one day.
............

that is an average of 61.45 mph for 24hrs with no stops, no refuelling, no pee breaks---- interesting

So 1,850 miles in 5 weeks, that's 370 a week on a bike that you were also running in for a 3rd of those miles, well done :clap

It would be interesting to hear how many miles the pish takers have done in the last 5 weeks :D

I picked an LC up last Friday and have only managed 700 miles so far.....

Am I enjoying it? Well I guess that's one way of putting it :thumb :bounce1

Picked up on the 13th have done 1200 miles so far - would have been more but was laid up for about 4 days with a bad back :-(

It was bought as a workhouse and has been fabulous! I do approx 60 miles a day in and out of London plus weekend bimblages mostly around the chilterns, oxon and the cotwolds

After more than 10 years in the C1 Forums which are amazingly helpful, friendly and informative I'm amazed that you lot get off on being like this to each other. Another friend of mine whose interests are a music Forum reads profusely but never posts for fear of the inevitable abuse that follows.

I'm not afraid to voice an opinion. I'm never rude to anyone and I have to say this does nothing to enhance my passion for BMW motorcycles in general or GSs in particular (if you're a member of that "club" you'll recognise that phrase).

I know what response this will generate so over to the thugs to say it anyway.

This time I probably won't even bother to read them. :barf

Seeing as we are waving our mileage willies around - :blast Only 800 in the last 4 weeks, now waiting for its first service and then off to Austria - :bounce1 Back for 3 weeks and then off to Spain trail riding on it - :JB

I wonder why then that this is one of the more popular, diverse and, most importantly active bike sites out there with a remarkable number of peeps on here actually knowing each other in the real world :nenau

Personally I like the banter on here :)

Picked up my obselete GSA 90th anniversary thing 23rd March, just on 3600 miles now. Do I get a prize or something :)

Enjoy the new bike though OP

Yep

But I am rather hard core:D I'd also like to say my average speed was nearer 80mph and I only stopped when I needed fuel. I took my pee breaks coffee and fags at the same time:thumb2

A 10 minute pee/coffee/fag break means you would have to do a constant 160mph for the next 10 minutes to average 80mph :D
