High Mileage

Any particular reason for a big boxer as an off road bike?
I can think of a lot better bikes for the purpose:D

fancy doing some big bike rallies - old motocrosser with a limp. Need to balance the walk up. Race twinshock bikes but slowing down with age - just looking for something else.

I've just turned down a very very rough high mileage 1200ADV I was offered for less than what people are paying for high mileage 1100/1150 models. Didn't want it as you can guarantee it'll cost double what you think to make it presentable, and as Mikey has said, feck all on it to break and sell as its all worn out.

Is it still available? Sort of thing I am after as a project, if so please can you PM me Neil, thanks

My RS100 that I had before the 1150 Adv was sold with 334,000 miles on it. The heads had never been off, it was on original clutch, original suspension, original wheel bearings, in fact original everything except consumable service items, generator belt and a headlamp bulb, just the one bulb in all those years. It made £1850 - that was 11 years ago or so. It all depends how it is looked after. Mechanical sympathy when riding goes a long way. I have trouble understanding how people break stuff in 30,000 miles or so.
