From Nutty,
Give us the lowdown, without posting the dyno charts then. We've seen loads of them already!
Not quite as bad as these you haven't.
The graphs readings before 4500 rpm look like a roller coaster which confirms exactly how the bike felt. From 3400rpm to 3750rpm it jumped from 53 ftlb to 70 ftlb and then by 4300 was back down to 65 ftlb, that was the worst bit, it was up and down all over the place, after 4500 it straightened out. The air fuel ratio was very lean not dropping below 14.5, not good apparently.
After Geoff had done his stuff the readings are so different, the torque and power readings are lovely and straight, the power line ( can't call it a curve) doesn't vary more than 2 bhp from being a straight line from 2100rpm to 6750 rpm. After 5500rpm you can see the difference that the full system makes as the lines keep getting further apart all the way to 7500 when power starts to drop off (7200 rpm pre tune)
The riding experience mirrors the graphs, more progressive and smooth, easier around town, on the open road you really notice the difference, give it real handful and the bike just keeps going, building all the way, most impressive. Also the bike ticks over more smoothly and run down to lower rpm without complaining, 2000rpm.
My mates numbers were similar though not as lumpy, his a 20,000ml early '13, mine 3500ml june '14.
The numbers;
Pre, 99.21 bhp @7290rpm
75.77ftlb @5873rpm
Post, 118.62bhp @7427rpm
89.54ftlb @6172rpm
My mates 1bhp and 2ftlb more
Geoff obviously knows what he is doing. For those that say not possible, think of half the gain as putting things back to where they should be in the first place and the rest is a tune up instead of BMW taking it from where it should be and tuning it down for the greenies.
BMW give the engine a value of 10 then strangle it down to 9 for emissions and variable, fuel, altitude and temp. Geoff has sorted that crap out and then tuned it up 10% by making the correct adjustment to allow for more consistent fuel grade temps etc. that we have over here in Europe .
These are my words not his and maybe I am talking complete bollocks, When I ride the bike it doesn't feel it.
