Hilltop tuning in the north east

Not yet but the better the fueling the longer the engine will last and it should run a little cooler to boot.
they lean the fueling so they can meet the EU emissions targets.

Emissions testing is done in specific zones in the Rev range which is where they lean it out. It does not alter the overall fueling. Those that have monitored the afr of their bikes seem to suggest it’s anything but lean generally and certainly not to the detriment of the engine.

The hilltop will richen it up in those testing zones based on what I know of how it works.

The Hilltop won’t affect Emissions testing.
I know because i asked BMW to check my bike post Hilltop upgrade and it was “favorable”, meaning it would pass the strict Spanish ITV (MOT equivalent).

Supposedly the Hilltop only takes over once the bike is in motion.
But for me, the most important issue was that it DID NOT affect exhaust gas levels in any way.

And do you not suspect that BMW engineer the bikes to survive this - after all there would be a shit load of warranty claims if they didn't?

My last bike, a Euro 4 one was the sweetest running 1200 I've owned.

.Euro 4 emissions compliance testing is done in motion at varying speeds and also a cold start test. The oem fueling has to cater to that which is why it’s leaner in specific areas.

The mot type test is just a static probe up the exhaust so much easier to work around. I suspect hilltop does alter emissions, I don’t see how it can’t if it’s adding fuel etc. it probably just doesn’t at the rpm for a static test

Mine is Euro 3. (14 GSA LC)
So emissions check is done static and we are allowed to warm up the bike beforehand (for example, if there is a long wait at the ITV depot).
