Hit a bloody pidgeon tonight

Went to meet Easy Sushi this evening down at Bahnstormer Alton then headed down the road to Loomies for a coffee. Within 10 mins of leaving Alton we started to get a wiggle on and just after overtaking a car there was a bang and an explosion of feathers. My phone, mounted in a Quadlock mount had come loose, the anti vibration attachment had separated from the rest of the mount and the screen was cracked..

Only realised the extent of the damage once we arrived at Loomies….

New screen, side pod thing that sits under the screen on the side of it, mounts and the bit that moves the screen up and down all needed!!

I was following Johnny Boxer a few years ago on a road stretch to connect up some trails, when a pheasant took flight from his near side. He ducked, fortunately, and took the full force on his shoulder. Now that’s a four, five pound bird ? I think it hurt.

It's not the grammar police you need to worry about, it's the spelling police.

A girl I was riding with years ago hit a pheasant which impacted her right fork at just below tyre level. Luckily she stayed on and maintained control but ~1.6 kgs of bird made a hell of a mess. She was covered in blood and guts up most of the right side of her kit. The pheasant basically turned into mince.

For the OP glad you're OK, be grateful it wasn't a deer you hit.

Though on the subject of damage. 43 years ago a friend in the motor trade was driving his Peueot 504 in a 30mph area when he hit a pigeon.
Back then an indicator and a front headlight cost him circa £85.00.
