Honda CT125 Hunter Cub

Absolute bargain on eBay if anyone’s looking for a CT.
Comes with £280 worth of Opmid unit plus another few bits.

The red CT125 I won has been successfully MOT'd yesterday by Nathan and now in a van on its way to me :). It's cost £100 to add to my insurance, although I would have preferred to insure it separately without No Claims but they wanted £500 for that .

I can't wait to take it out locally on the Vale of Belvoir lanes. I wonder what I'd get for it in PEX for a Kove 450 Rally . My intention is to resist bolting anything else to it, and just run a soft bag on the tail but I could be tempted by heated grips, maybe a quadlock charging base and finally a SAE charging connector for my Optimate and tyre pump.

A quick test ride now its taxed and insured, a tarmac trip into the nearby town on a shopping errand. Gearbox seems great (Neutral at the top and 4 down). Will aim to try it on some gentle lanes at the weekend, then I'll probably sell it to put it towards my next bike:DD.

Bars adjusted a little to create a bit more space between the bars and me and a SAE connector added to the battery for a pump, alongwith a Lomo Pannier on the rear rack for carrying stuff (the larger of two panniers purchased on here).

I've also invested in a set of spanners that I can keep on the bike as the main bolts including wheels are all nuts 19mm and smaller.

Overall it runs great, not the fastest thing but gets up to speed well, the guidance is change up early, and down late which seems to work and be the most mechanically sympathetic approach.

I've ordered some new plastic pop rivets as one is broken, and I lost the pin in another removing the battery cover. I have also ordered a HD tube to carry, along with some motion pro levers and some rim protectors for tyre changes. I can't wait to see how it copes on byways.

Below a pic from the 'secure' parking in Nottingham (Fletcher Gate Car Park). Access used to be app controlled and brilliant, but inevitably the council ran out of money to be able to keep the app up to date so now you press a button for the on site attendant to let you in.

@Micky do you recommend the Yoshimura exhaust ? I'm assuming its a bit lighter too ? Noticable difference in power ?

Unreservedly :thumby:

The bikes are addictive aren't they :D

It's not cheap but its absolute top quality and beautifully made. It's a work of art. Pal has a different make but it's nowhere near as smart and good looking. Frees up the engine quite a bit, s'pose to add 1hp .... wow, but then that is 10% :D
Pulls up the hills much better.

I bought mine from Webike in Japan. Superb to deal with, buy with confidence. Quick service/delivery. Over £400 cheaper than buying in the UK

YSS suspension next for mine. Pal just fitted Öhlins to his at over £1,000 :blast
YSS just as good for half the price. The standard suspension lets the 'bike down and bottoms out too easy, with severe spine crunching consequences!

Good luck with the 'bike :thumby:

Micky I take it you feel the YSS springs are stronger than stock? Or do they offer a heavy duty version? I'd like heavier springs for both the shocks and forks actually.
