Just had two new Tourance fitted at the downtown Oslo main BumV agents - two tyres, fitted & balanced - £445 to you Sir
*No Sir, that is our special price" :thedummy

When they are due for replacement next time, get the ferry to England, buy a pair here and pay for your week here with the change.

What's the going rate over here? Happy Robson (York) charges £250 all-in.

Jeeeezzz
I don’t understand the Norwegian economy, the tyres are made in the same factory as the rest of Europe’s, so who’s cashing in, the government, the importer, the retailer or all of them? :nenau

The sales tax in Norway is 25%, but that wouldn't account for the high prices charges for just about everything in Norway.

Prices in some countries in Europe are also dictated by the wholesalers/ distributors and /or manufacturers.

For example, I wanted to geta zumo 550 here in Belgium

I couldn't find it for less that the list price of €699 (about £550) anywhere here. I asked the BMW dealer from whom I bought my bike if he would sell it to me at a discount as a deal together with my new GSA. He said he was not allowed to discount it at all.

Amazon.co.uk won't ship it anywhere outside UK as they are told not to by the manufacturer to protect the Belgian distributor.

Finally got it thru a UK retailer who ignored the rule for £375 shipped

Same applies to the BMW Rallye 2 pro jacket - €610 (£480) at all the local dealers I've called.

Same goes for Ipods, digital cameras, laptops, etc.

Fixed price - full list price only - discounting is illegal - selling below cost is illegal!

Not quite rip-off Britain!

Rant over

I`d have posted my wheels to the uk to get them fitted for a bit less than £445

Quick plug for a friend who runs Scorpion tyres from his home address. Euan Stewart is his name. Metzeler Tourance front and rear including removal of both wheels £180. Bargain. He also throws in a cup of tea and biscuits and lets you watch him if you want. Can usually have next day delivery on most occasions.

Sweden

Here in Sweden I was quoted £393 all-in by BMW, but got it done at an independent for £310. Seems reasonable (for Sweden...) :nenau

I obtain bits and pieces from the UK and Germany (often very much cheaper than in France.) Nobody seems to have any trouble - it would be agianst all the principles of the EU to make ANY difficulties;

I had a 700 mile front Tourance start playing up while in France en route to Barcelona this time last year. Was getting a lot of vibration from the front end at speed.Found the BMW dealer in Limoge he messed about for a while trying to balance it for a while but eventually admitted defeat and fitted another new one all for 130 euro i hought I would get hit good style but the price compared V well with what I paid in UK(Buckley tyres).
