Hot - not the gearbox

I went for two rides this weekend. After a while of spirited riding I noticed the gearbox was getting less and less responsive. Finally, I could barely get down the gearbox and twice had to move off in fourth. When the bike cooled down, everything returned to normal. Clearly all is not well and wondered if anyone had theories or whether I have a serious problem.

Clutch slave cylinder on way out? Did you notice any difference at the handlebar? The clutch lever gets progressively looser until you lose it altogether.

Mine 'recovered' for a while and then went for a burton in the most inaccessible place imagineable. "Recovery tomorrow afternoon, sir?"

Think it was about £130 to fix it about 60-70 of which was parts.

If it sounds like that I would be buying a small bottle of the very special clutch fluid that you can't buy in a normal garage. It's made of a leprachauns whizz or something. It may just get you home although I wouldn't guaranee it.

As the clutch wears, the fluid in the reservoir increases. You might have to remove some fluid rather than put it in.

Check the gear lever and linkages aren't seizing due to being dry .

Thought the problem had gone away. It hadn't. Thanks for the tips. Have rung the dealers as it is still under the used warranty. Fingers crossed.

worth spraying wd40 onto th gearshift pivots, feel if free or not first.

Clutch issue was just bubbles in hyd hose, reroute and solve, feckin dealers replacing parts taking the piss.
