Hotel advice please

I know, wrong section probably. also, wrong timing cos I see yer all heading off abroadski, and, "he never posts until he wants something".
But, since I've been out on the trials bike virtually ever weekend for yonks I've decided to take my wife away for the weekend on the GS. (That's the thing that's only been out of it's resting place in the garage twice this year!). I'm thinking Corrour House, Rothiemurchus, Aviemore for Friday night then up to Durness on Saturday staying at Mackays. Home (Perth) Sunday by a different but fairly direct route. Probably the first decent weekend weather-wise after this coming one. Anybody any experience of these places or got better ideas? I'm looking for somewhere with some quality and decent food otherwise my dear lady wife might reject the whole plan!
The original plan was to re-run the Pink Way Round route to let her see where we went but time's against us.

If you're in the Aviemore area, the Cross in Kingussie used to be good (on the pricey side though).

No real experience of some of the places on you list but I loved the roads up to, and back from, Durness.

I camped so the accommodation was basic but good and the view from the campsite spectacular.

I went to the pub early and seem to remember eating something while I was there- doubt the sore head in the morning was the result of something I ate but apart from that I can't comment on the food.

The Rowan Tree Hotel just south of Aviemore certainly does good food, and the rooms look fine.

Checked the website and that looks spot on. Many thanks. AND if I wanted to have the same sensation as Wully I'd just have to drink a lot more than I'd planned. Wully yer daft.....but very funny!
