Can anyone give me a definitive as to how the linked brakes are set up on the bike. Is it front brake applying linked rear brake or rear brake applying linked front brake if activated in isolation.

i havnt got a wc but all other bm bikes i have had have a good description of how the various systems work in the owners book.

Front applies both. Rear only the rear. If you have pressed front before the rear it puts pressure in the system for the back brake so if you then put your foot on the rear brake it bites at a higher point. Now I know what to do to get the higher pedal position. I will experiment with applying the front and then applying the back then releasing the front whilst keeping the back on. It does make a huge difference in slow speed control and is much more controllable in the higher or pre pressurised position.

I had a chance to get out yesterday and however I might try to get the different 'position' symptom, I could not manage it. Perhaps just dabbing the front brake first is enough but it seemed to be the same feel on the rear brake whatever sequence I used. It did not seem to go in the low or difficult position at any stage. All a bit odd. In normal riding it does not make a blind bit of difference and I have never noticed it when braking from any sort of speed but it has been a bugger when trying to hold it in balance at very low speed and seems even worse two up. Hopefully practice will improve it but I do find two up in traffic an absolute nightmare to keep it nice and balanced at slow speed. Perhaps someone's comment that it is the sit up and beg riding position that makes this more difficult. I never even had to think about it on my VFR750 or Blade. But despite all of this I just love the handling of this bike and wouldn't change a thing. I don't even mind the built in audible warning that you have engaged first gear. It is most unlike BMW to throw in a free extra :):)
