How did you buy your iPad 2?

Mrs K is in line for an iPad 2 for Christmas but I'm seeing John Lewis and Apple Store prices being undercut by £70-£100 on eBay. Some of them are "open boxes" but the sellers have appear to have good feedback and plenty of sales

Any thoughts?

If you want a safe bargain then the only place to shop is Apple's own refurb' store on their website. Full warranty etc just comes in a plain box. I've bought off their twice and i'm pretty certain that in many cases the machines are just new old stock sold cheaply without upsetting retailers or devaluing the brand.

Got mine from 's as i had over £200 in vouchers, so I got a 64 wifi 3G for £440.

Got a wifi only model.

Got the Three One Plan on the mobile .. so tethering off that to get on the internet. Works ok and lot cheaper than having two price plans (mobile + ipad)

Just a thought before you buy 3G model. Travelled with it and most places I have been to .. hotels offer free wifi

Get a 3g the get a throwaway sim from ebay. 3gb upto 90 days £10-£15, i'm on my 3rd sim and no problems.

Got my 32GB wifi & 3G iPad 2 from 3.

Paid £250 and then signed up for a £25 a month data plan..... swings and roundabouts

Won £130 on the grand national, emptied the swear-box and got on a 15G/£25m contract from 3 for £230 up front. Unlocked my iPhone and reduced it to £10/m to offsed the iPad contract a bit.

From Apple last Friday when they had them on special offer. Saved about £45 on 32GB WiFi model.

I got a used iPad 1 from here. Only real difference is the camera, and i got a 9 month old 16gb wi-fi 3g for £170, and its perfect. Plus if you get one still in warranty you can extend it!

I did have a 2 but just kept looking at it on the side at home, £440 sitting there doing nothing so i sold it for the same price, I can live with £170 and being used occasionally...
