Do programmes like ccleaner actually work well in conjunction with Windows? If you look at what it does, (basically clearing your cache and cookies etc.). It also messes around with the registry.
Can you ever be really confident of anything that goes so deep into your machine that it alters its registry files?

works fine on the registry as well, never given me any problems.
You get the option to back up any corrections to registry in case of problems.
CClearner will also let you mark which cookies to keep
