Take your point on the price.... But that looks well, apart from wrapped exhaust . and far more unique and individual than a Ducati Scrambler...!!!

Its probably just me but I am sick to death of these cafe/flat track/bobber/lookalikey now "in" airhead/k bikes, the rip off bandwagon has well and truly been jumped on and it boils my piss when I see another stupid ill thought out poor conversion of a dwindling resource. Hopefully the oh so chi chi "in" crowd will soon fuck off (and when they get there they can fuck off again) and move on and find something else to pose with and leave my beloved airheads alone.

It's taken a while for them to catch up with what's happening at street level but the manufactures are on now board with the Cafe/Scrambler culture so it looks like they'll be around a while longer.

I said they were MY beloved airheads, not anyone else's!

And I have no problem with individuality and modifications PER SE, in fact im all for it, but I do have problems where the bike is ill thought out poorly done etc - its a waste, is what it is.

Kevils bikes are far from poorly done... As a matter of fact.. I think they are overdone... And as for a waste.... Well most of the bikes used are at the end of the lives.... So they are being recycled.... And that can't be wrong, in this throw away society we live in.... ,!! ...... Now you've started me.... ....

Good point re recycling...most would be sitting in the parts bin at Motorworks now if it wasn't for the current trend of Cafe conversions etc !

I couldn't agree more.
Look at post #9 there are 2 bikes I've recycled.
I'm all for saving ageing BMW's. Here's my 100R and my recently found "survivor", a 26000 mile K100RS.
If it's a BM', it's worth saving.

that pricing is obscene. however, the trend of young guys wanting something like this instead of jumping straight on 1000cc Japanese widow-makers isn't all bad. also many of these motors are being completely rebuilt and will run for many more years rather than rotting away in a garden or shed. anything that keeps interest in these bikes going keeps our parts readily available and reasonably priced. I've no objection. my bike isn't original, and never will be. it was rescued after being nicked and trashed. I didn't have the money to replace all parts with original or do a purist restore, but I will never part with it now.

as you can see, it is currently being put back together. it's getting new barrels, pistons, rings, rear main seal, oil pump seal, gearbox input seal, new carb jets & gaskets and neatened wiring.

here it is before teardown. it's going back together much the same, but new paint and seat.

yep all good I have a bucket of shite r100 that I have been rebuilding it was a scrapper before I turned it into a fucking money pit lol still almost done .
I guess i am just amazed at the amount of cash people will pay for a Kevils bike,I have never seen one in the flesh they may well be great but wow not cheap
