Any (constructive) help on this matter would be appreciated.:thumb

I am wanting to find out the exact age of my bike. I read somewhere here that all I needed to do was to ring a BMW number _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (please fill in the blanks) and with my VIN number at hand they could tell me the exact date of manufacture.
Through the act of trying to order some spares I have come to the costly realization that registration and manufacture could possibly be two separate dates.:augie:clap:augie

Regards to all

Side Stand

I think they all have the week and year of manufacture stamped on the top of the sidestand.
Cheers . Frontbrake

Unless due to the usual occurance of a wonky side stand has meant replacement :D

Or the other common mod, replace the standard side stand with an ADV longer stand. Then what :D

Many of the plastic mouldings are date-marked. Have a look at seat base,
air filter housing etc Should accurate to within a month or so.

All that shows is when the plastic was moulded. Not when i was fitted to the bike. They sit in the factory for months on end.

sidestand on my bike says 24/99 (I suppose that means week 24)

realoem says 12/99 and thats the one I tend to believe. particularly given the bike was first registered in March 2000.

Thats correct, the date on the side stand tells you when the sidestand was made. Not the bike.
