Sometimes it can be useful to add pauses into stops. Here’s how, using the example of a simple A, to B to C route (which would normally take five minutes) but with a pause of one hour inserted at B.

To insert the pause, just tap on the point you wish to pause at. Then tap on the black oblong box. Then select the pause period. Then close the box. MyRoute will do the rest.

I don’t know why the estimated time increased by an additional two minutes. Perhaps it adjusts for additional faffing around?

This function might well be useful for bods who ask: “We want to go 350 miles in a day, down the twisties but with stuff to see and do along the way. Cafes too and a place for scran ‘n brew”. They can work out for themselves (or not) just how fast they’ll need to go between the various stops to do stuff.

One can also specify a type of Pause it is too, by means of choosing an appropriate icon. See example bellow.

I have recreated Richards test route, inserting waypoint 2 at the Total fuel station. Now, if one was to leave said waypoint as a default numbered bubble over a blue background, there likely chance, it'll be ignored in the sea of other waypoints with same colouring, within a longer route.

By clicking / tapping on a yellow waypoint (clock/timer) icon, you can choose your own icon, for a specified purpose.

You can see bellow, how this does change the overall appearance, within the planned route.

Thank you.

I knew you could change the colour of the hand and tear drops. I didn’t know you could change the colour of the icon symbols too.

Poke about, you can't break it! :D :hide

Good thing to mess about with to get an Idea of your total time rather than driving time.......and take account of group size/riding buddies foibles. Always find the the time to get from A to B rises exponentially with group sizes larger than three.......variables include, tank size, bladder size, cigarettte, coffee, tea cravings lost keys, and various levels of individual inertia once a stop has been declared over :D Was once on a trip to Scotland with 12 bods you had to budget 45mins for a petrol stop :D

can't you just do this...? (it's visual joke......... I'll be back in 5 mins....)

see that was a break.... and I really didn't do anything....!

most I have had on a trip I have coordinated is 11 on 7 bikes. The largest group that stuck together on this trip was 3 of us, the 3 solo riders as we rode from Blois to La Bourboule via D roads. The 4 couples all rode independently as they all had things they wanted to see on the way so used some motorway to make up time. I would not run the trips if everyone expected to be herded. I like to have a few days in the trip to myself, riding in the mountains with no real plan. Most of the time we stay together for meal times but not always e.g. if someone had a big lunch so wants a snack at tea time or if a couple of the gourmands decide to enjoy a 50 euro menu when others want a 10 euro pizza.
