Could the panel assist?
I have a 2 month old RT, with FM radio and Bluetooth, an Evo 6 helmet, an IPhone 4 and a Navigator V. Everything works really well and am happy with Bluetooth quality and rotary switch functionality.

I'd like to get a decent two way radio on the bike, and I'd also like to use the existing setup and not have extra cables on to the helmet.

I did ask on one of the USA forums, but the topic veered off to radar detectors!

I have asked AutoCom ( no reply) and posted on the Sena support forum but their reply was they had no experience of connecting to Evo Helmets.

I know Sena do an SR10 and an SM10, Bluetooth hub, and am wondering if I could connect this to the Navigator V and possibly the iPhone to the Sena.

Anyone else done this, or know who sells Sena and has a shop I could go to?

Sorry, but I'm an Autocom fan.

Suggest a Logic and a bike powered Kenwood radio.

You get what you pay for. Call Sam at Chainspeed for advice.

i had the SR10 bluetooth and A kenwood radio TK3310 connected to my Autocom air ..all worked fine ……the send hub comes with a wired PTT lead connect this to the kenwood . Pair the hub to the NAV and the NAV to the bluetooth in your lid ….if its a sena bluetooth SMH20 or the likes ,it will pair easy .. .once paired you do not have to pair again , they find each other.

I then connected the phone to the nav and the helmet picked this up to…..its best to start pairing just one thing , then adding another .

it was tricky in the beginning but it sorted itself out in the end

I put my Kenwood under the seat of the RT. it works fine and the range is decent for what i do with it. If you need a better signal , you need an ext aerial.

i purchased mine form a company in York called WILDTALK ….very helpful and knew what he was on about , he stocks all the send range

Get an Intaride 803 and use it through your Autocom. Be careful though, if you press the buttons in a certain way you get 4 watts output instead of 1/2 watt which is illegal and you wouldn't want that would you. :D

could you show me which ones to press so i can obtain this ..i use an 803 for my spare radio ..thanks

Dave, I believe that if you key the transmit button, and then briefly press the orange button on the top you will see the transmit power go from half to full power. Not that i would of course, that would be illegal.
Wobble, i get around that problem by using an external aerial

Many thanks will be bring that but then powering back down to half watt of course !!

Dave, it doesn't matter how much power you're putting out if the radio is not upright. Try an external aerial kit, i found a big improvement with it.

thanks Steve, I am Aware of that ,the radio is always upright. looking into an external antenna at the moment too cheers….BTW do you know anyone that will adjust the Kenwood TK3301 to take an external antenna? i use the interide 803 and that kenwood ,so would like the internal connector on the kenwood changed to the same as the one on the interide and then i can fit either as and when i use the radio.

just tried to pop the full power into the interide…….what a doodle ! it saves it in its memory too …just in case you forget to power down of course :P

Intaride do an external aerial kit which uses the "standard" radio fittings which isn't expensive. They also do a battery eliminator so you can use it all the time with no fear of flat batteries.

So
Imagine you emailed Autocom, and they didn't reply, you asked Sena, they said what is a BMW, and didn't reply about the Navigator V. Then you posted a question on a USA forum and they started bleating about radar detectors, so you came to your senses and realised that you should have spoken to the tossers, and then they started going on about more watts and aerials at the like.

I called Interride, and they didn't get back, and Chainspeed are on holiday for two weeks.

All I want (sniff) is to know how to connect a two way radio to my BMW which has Navigator V and its own Bluetooth..

Oops, sounding like I am getting upset, it's the time festive period and time for another sherry!

intAride. Not intERride.
The problem is that unless your PMR has BT built in (and not many have, although INTARIDE are bringing one out) you are trying to connect different technologies. IE bluetooth and wired comms.

Simply put you use an Autocom unit with a BT dongle to connect to nav 5 and use hard wired connection to the PMR unit. Then, you can decide wether you use wired headset or BT headset for your helmet. Simples

Incidentally, is the PMR unit you use a BT one.

Wobble, I saw Dave who owns Intaride yesterday, he told me that last week was totally manic to such an extent that he is going back into the office on Monday when he was planning to finish for Christmas on Friday. Call him on monday and hopefully you will get through. By the way just so you know he has oesophegal cancer at the moment and has just been through chemo and is having surgery on January 8th.....not that he wants sympathy but just to give you some perspective, if you get through to him I know he will do his best to help. Hope you get sorted.;)

Dave is a top man to deal with. Hope everything works out for him.
