How to connect a PMR (rider to rider radio) to an RT?

Many thanks,

I still have two Midland G8 BT's but didn't get them to successfully pair with either the BMW Evo helmet or the Nav V. Tried again yesterday and the NAV paired once out of ten or so goes, but it seemed to think that it was n earpiece and not a phone type device so in the end I gave up again.

The Midland's were not very good distance wise, and one retailer (Thunderpole) said it was as it was in my pocket and my body suppressed the signal ( funny, how could he tell down the phone I'm a big lad?) and another said PMRs were technically illegal unless carried about the body ( ie attached to the bike).

I like the idea of accidentally pressing buttons, and Installing an aerial kit to get better signal.

I'm out and about today (or sleeping) and the doing my Christmas bit with rellly's on and off for until the new year, so it's going to have to wait until Jan but as soon as I come back, I'll get in touch with Dave for his advice.

Happy days all!

Ok mate, like I said make sure you call before Jan 8th as after that he will be unavailable for a few weeks whilst he recuperates from his surgery. Merry Christmas:beerjug:

You could try a tribe bluetooth radio paired to your headset. I use one occasionally with students who have bluetooth headsets mixed results if Im honest some pair brilliantly some don't. I transmit from my kenwood and Autocom they pickup and transmit over headset to tribe. Cost about 60 new or if your around south yorkshire your quite welcome to see if your headset will pair to my tribe.

Wobble, I have the Sena Bluetooth two-way radio hub SR10 for using a Kenwood 3210 PMR radio with my Sena 20S headset which I recently bought from Dave (Post #5). I haven't tried it yet due to a busy festive season but if you are anywhere near Fareham over the next fortnight you are most welcome to drop by for a brew and pair it to your Bluetooth comms setup (assuming you use a Kenwood radio). I reckon it should work fine according to the instruction book, although it is mono audio and not stereo.

Herr PukM.. That is a very generous offer.

Sadly, I'm away at the moment, and won't be back for a week or three.

I'll PM you when I'm back and see if we can organise a mutually convenient time.

:)

Give these guys a call, they provide us with our bike to bike radios for when we are instructing. They are really helpful and will get you sorted.;)

I checked out the link and the Intaride gear looks very tidy, and quite a bit cheaper than Autocom. How do they perform at speed, I'm thinking maybe instructing is mostly at lowish speeds?

My students have no problem hearing me at 70mph on dual carriageways.

So
Imagine you emailed Autocom, and they didn't reply, you asked Sena, they said what is a BMW, and didn't reply about the Navigator V. Then you posted a question on a USA forum and they started bleating about radar detectors, so you came to your senses and realised that you should have spoken to the tossers, and then they started going on about more watts and aerials at the like.

I called Interride, and they didn't get back, and Chainspeed are on holiday for two weeks.

All I want (sniff) is to know how to connect a two way radio to my BMW which has Navigator V and its own Bluetooth..

Oops, sounding like I am getting upset, it's the time festive period and time for another sherry!

Hi Wobble my post might not have been very clear. With the setup you have i believe your headset pairs to 2/3 bluetooth devices. If thats the case the Tribe bluetooth radio should give you what you want no wires no more kit just a £60 radio! As i said in my post before it either works first time every time or not at all, but thats bluetooth, just depends on your headset and pairing. After that your into Inter Rider starcom or autocom and a radio, much more cost.
