Would the 0.03 Amps be a problem for that circuit?
Thanks in advance,

Will this method sort the constant power feed on my hardwired TomTom rider II?

Hi guys - new to the forums. I have an economic Harman Kardon GPS300 European/UK car sat nav which has passed from VFR to Blackbird and spent 3 years on my 2006 BMW 1200GSA, wired via various car cigarette lighter leads to a £4.99 Maplins accessory socket mounted near clocks. All good so far. Held in a Touatech case. But ... the £50 unit battery is dying and now knackered two power leads. Gonna wire via the built in GPS plug and make up a Maplin/BMW lead as per your directions. Can you confirm that the power out of the Canbus is reduced to the necessary 5V, 1A output via the mini USB connection, or do I need to allow for an in-line resistor to pull it down? Not sure what happens when I run it through a standard USB lead into the 12V accessory socket?![]()
If it's just the yellow end that connects to the bike - if you become a subscriber to this site you can PM Stumpy who can probably help
If you need the end that plugs into your sat nav post up what model you have and someone may be able to help.
I found the cable for my garmin 2610 at Amazon for a very reasonable price!
Just ordered one a second ago from BMW.
Part number is: 83 30 04 13 585 £ 11.25
Is this the part number for all models?
I have a 2011 GSA.
Thx in advance.
