how to?

I have a Medion PDA GPS - which despite crashing sometimes when I plug it into the bike, and the battery being a total PITA, works very well in the aquabox case with a RAM arm mount off the windscreen support. I can see over it when riding, but don't have to look too far down when I want to check the screen.

where do you position your gps on your GS? any pics?

What GS do you have? :nenau

Have a look at Motorrad Concepts' site - lots of pics of most BMW models:

Motorrad Concepts Mounts :thumb

There is plenty of space above the clocks - perfect place for a GPS :thumb

Here's where I fit my TT Rider to my 1150GS...

It's a Motorrad Concepts bracket - top piece of kit.

Without spending any more money (I believe that to be an important consideration  ) your RAM-149-B(Z) will fit on the handlebar so somewhere off centre to the left to suit.

If you were to tap up rammykins you can get a 'shim' adaptor http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/rap-319.htm to allow you to use the crossbrace or mirror stem.

When I had (close to) the same equipment* as you had I fitted it just to the right of the left switchgear which kept it clear of the tankbag, clear of the clocks and close to my left hand for poking and prodding on the move, something I of course could not possible endorse.

* Picture shows a Streetpilot III in a Touratech cradle but it is mounted using a RAM 149BZ.

When funds allow I'd heartily recommend the MiGSel mount for 1100 http://www.migsel.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=5 which will utilise most of what you already have, you'll just want a short ram arm http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/ram-201-b.htm for it.

In my mind it puts the GPS in the best possible place on a bike, something I now miss as he has discarded us airhead devotees in favour of the blingsville oilheads :D

No need Judge !. Anyone getting the 2610 gps bike kit from gps warehouse will find that in the bike buddy bundle which has case and power lead, I've included a RAM-B-149Z mount, RAM-HOL-GA9 cradle plus slipped in a shim-bo adaptor (RAP-319) as I thought it might come in handy for some Tossers :D

Most excellent, in that case the world is their oyster card, I'd go for a cross brace mounting as close as you can get to the left switchgear :thumb

cheers

Thanks to All . I fitted the mount and power lead today as close to left as poss
but the unit is Still in the box I been a god boy and havent picked, poked or prodded it as yet!! :clap :clap
