Reckon I'm probably behind on this as usual but I fitted the Wünderlich hugger on my recent trip to Germany. Called in and found them extremely friendly and helpful.

Free water/coffee/tea and also internet access. They will not fit the items you purchase themselves for insurance reasons. However they had a massive box of tools (snapon type chest about 1m high) + all the advice you could need.

I managed to fit it myself in 10 mins and that is saying something for a complete technophobe

I find it quite effective for cutting the crud down etc.

Result and it looks nice too worked out at £140 :D

Alte, that bike's waaay too clean :D Your time would be better spent posting a report & pics of all your recent travels :D

Like the look of the hugger, except I'm not a big fan of the carbon fibre look. Do they do it in regular plastic too ? I've been waiting for Motorrad Concepts but they've decided they weren't going to proceed with Mk2 :(

Badly need something to keep the sh1t off the rear ;) ;)

heya...nice colour with your GSA...prefer that one....Wunderlich is certainly the better option compared to Touratech in germany....
looks nice, but personally don't like a hugger at all....feel there is a mismatch of riding that kind of bike and get scared of water/dirt....thats my opinion....

Thats only 'cos you couldn't get the faster colour :D

Its not being 'scared' of dirt but a hugger keeps most of the sh1t out of the hard to reach places under the wheel arch :thumb Makes it easier to clean, if you're that way inclined ;) ;)

Hi Jockser,

I take your point re the trips posts but it takes me forever (like 2-3 hrs ... :o ) to 'do' the post :( I like to 'do' them in one sitting and post all together if I can. I will sort it though and there are some decent pics in there

Re hugger not sure about the regular plastic, I too was waiting on the concepts Mk2 but when they cancelled I was forced to consider other options. Check here you can download the whole brochure now :thumb

Cheers :beerjug:

Hi Mac,

Thanks, I can see what you mean about the 'that kind of bike' idea.

I like the GS though because it is an awesome road/touring bike. The styling I also like because it seems 'quirky' and a tad eccentric with an undeniable off road flavour.

I sometimes joke with friends though that if I ever end up 'off road', it will be because I have seriously mis- calculated a corner somewhere :D

I reckon off road means a 100 kg 250 or the likes, certainly not a 250kg behemoth :D

But hey that is just my opinion and I know there are many folks who greatly enjoy taking them off road and I think that is great :beerjug:

Cheers :thumb

Thanks for the link Alte :thumb Will give me something to do while I wait patiently for you report & pics :D :D

I've got the same hugger on my Adv and it certainly does cut down on the crap up around the back of the battery.
I also think it's important to ride your bike in the way YOU want to use it. I think the GS1200Adv is a 'all terrain tourer' therefore can be used on all or any terrain! Whatever floats your boat. By the way has anyone taken off the rear mudguard 'thing' and whats it for anyway?

well..."couldn't" is the wrong expression, I guess, was everywhere available, but certainly didn't want same colour as yours as I always have to remind you to use your bike not mine... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Heya,

sure, fully agree with you. For me its a styling thing which means I prefer it like it is...like I prefer that coluor. It gives me a bit too much road styling. Thats just the point on it for me...no critics on anyone who likes it... ;)

The GS, and I think also the HP2, are bikes for road/touring/and lets say up to a certain point all terrain bikes...more or less on all sections between the "Classic" GS (Jockser would say), the GSA and the HP2.

....but for preferring that styling it keeps my longer on cleaning it...unfortunately... :(

safe ride :thumb
