Huggered Up

Not sure mate - firstly I haven`t got a mudsling to look at and secondly stuff like this takes a lot of time to design, prototype and make - I`m not sure if you guys are willing to wait?

I`m not being negative.

why the feck its taking machineart soooo long I don`t know but to be fair it does take a long time

Would look the bollocks in St/Steel or aluminium :thumb 2 or 3mm Tube stock a little bigger that the tyre radius, precision cut to shape & roll to tyre circumference radius + 20mm, nice bracket (riveted or welded), brushed finish (maybe even anodised if alu or powder coated in main bike colour)..... cool :D
On the market first as well Mark and you already make some great stuff:beerjug:

With MachineArt quoting next year, you have plenty of time to get one to production, plus, I'll bet yours would be much better than their offering.:thumb

As long as its ready in about 4-6 weeks, I'm happy with that!:D

Good to see something never changes Nuts.

I`m thinking aluminium...............

Mmmmmmm

Guys, I spent some time on this over the weekend with a prototype made today.

I`ve got an idea - `modular` in design because to get a perfect shape like a `standard` hugger it simply needs to be moulded (ya simply can`t roll flat steel on three planes if ya get what I mean? - you can cold form it but what with a cold forming tool starting at 5k and no guarantee anyone will want what I have come up with I am reluctant to only spend time and money keeping Nuts happy :)

So, if we need the moulded `look` plastic f/glass hugger `shape` then sadly I can`t help.

But if an aluminium `modular` design sounds ok then I will crack on. Image a number of `squares` all incrementally bent against each other to form the radius to suit the outside dia of the wheel and the curvature of the tyre. Think rhino hide shape crossed with Transformers........... I may Tig it up but I`m thinking it might look that radical it could be exactly `me` - or it simply might look like shite..............

Either way I`m still at a loss why the big boys simply haven`t got their fingers out what with all their resources compared to little me.

I just don`t want to spend a f*ck load of time for it to all be for nothing.

(bit like what I did for the sump guard for Nuts..................)

Only joking Nuts - you know I live to keep you happy :bounce1

Has anyone bought the sump guard? You did say that it was no problem if I didn't buy it, as someone else would.:blagblah:blast

An alternative to the 'sling would, I'm sure, sell on here, as long as doesn't look ridiculous or cost a fortune, so if its not too much of an inconvenience, I'd say crack on.:thumb

Pal. seriously, its no problem about the sump guard - nothing has changed just wanted to pull ya leg.

Well, we will see about the alternative - tbh I have nooo idea but I`m interested enough to try an alternative and really REALLY it might look shite (and that's fine) but for sure its going to be radically different to anything else on the market (and possibly still shite..............)

we shall see!

regards

Fantastic.:clap I'll look forward to seeing this.:thumb

I really like your honesty mark, even tho some of the touratwat stuff is shite they will never admit it, and the word on the streets is, if anyone can do it, our scunny brother hooters can.

I bet you make some nice wine racks :)

He's asking you (and other acolytes) to think Nutty....

Think Armadillo, is what he said.

You know, use your imagination, patiently whilst he gets on with versions three thro' seven. It will be a fun game whilst you twiddle your thumbs waiting for your new bike; the one you imagine will have no faults; who knows, you may even be right. It will all be soon enough.

I thought about an armadillo, but am slightly concerned about its tail getting caught under the rear wheel, so would really like to see a picture, to put my mind at rest.:D

Thank you - eloquently put.

Are we talking hugger or sling here. I know what the thread title says but I thought we'd drifted towards mudsling.

I'm confused!

Looking forward to seeing it :)

Well, I don`t know if it`s gonna work and even if it does the possibility of it looking shite is huge but one thing for sure it`s completely different from anything else. In honesty not entirely because I want to try something radical but also because I cannot plastic injection mould it I`m kinda stuck with what I can do!

Thank you for the positive anticipation but please don`t build ya hopes up. This is really off the wall.
