I'm about to take delivery of a pair of Vern's worldbeater panniers. I'm looking at putting some additional rear/indicator lights on the outside edge, as the shortened indicators are hard to see from certain angles with the panniers on. As I plan to leave the panniers on pretty much all the time, I figured some more visible lights would be a good idea.

I like the idea of hyperlites as they have one that includes both rear lights and indicators, which would be a great thing to have out on the far edges of the rear panniers. I was just wondering if anyone else had used these or had opinions on alternatives to consider

Alternatively I could simply mount some red and amber led panels connected to brake and indicator lights respectively if I could find some decent ones.

Any suggestions?

Hyperlights are worth every penny and more. I had a set on my old VStrom and they were fantastic. Never really noticed how good they were until recently when I was riding behind a mate with them. I could see him from half a km away.

Waiting until I have the cash then getting a set for the GS.

They all seem to be intended to fit on a single number pate width bracket or have I not searched thoroughly enough?

Or how about these from the RSG site?

Those look like just the job, or perhaps the larger ones, and should wire in easily. Thanks for that. Cheap too.

I use AMP 5 way Superseal waterproof connectors.. and they have a quick release.. so 2 secs and they are unplugged

this guy on ebay is the cheapest around..

It will be good fun trying to ground those side mounted ones off on the road!

I've used these PowerPort units to get a waterproof seal for the cable into the panniers.

I have the correct crimping tool for the AMP connectors.

I can do custom variations of wiring for anyone interested.

Some other details HERE

Just a quick question. Have been looking to add more rear marker lights to my panniers. How have you connected the extra lights to the bike`s electrics. Had been told you should not cut into the bikes electric`s as it has can-bus wiring.
Cheers:thumb2
