Is it possible that there's more than one point of view on things...? Why don't you boys try & see that - not everyone has to do as you do & vice versa.

Well, 6 months left on my warranty ...
I am thinking about selling my bike and... buy a new one (grey !) :D
Am I the only one thinking about such a move?

Your money... your choice... your decision. :thumb

If you've had warranty issues with your current bike then I can understand your concerns, if you haven't - then I would keep your existing bike.

:)

I bought the GS as a keeper. I hope to riding the thing for 4 or 5 years at least.

Don't think that will get you off the hook. :) When I sold my 1150GS after 4 1/2 years, I came in for all sorts of abuse for jumping on the latest fad. :D

(Mind you when I changed to the RT after 15 months on the 1200, no comment received at all). At least you lot could be consistent.

Well said :thumb ...also considering the extended warranty way..

Explain a bit ?
Warranty extension does not exist in France. If I can get a new one for €2000, why would it be that stupid ?

I dont think your are gona have a new one for "only" 2000 euros :D

Even if the resale value is good for a BM, I would say rather 3-4000 euros you will need to put down for a brand new grey one....am - I right?

I will know that by tomorrow...
If it is more than 2000 euros (all included), there is no way I make the move.

Only someone with far too much money or no brain would consider doing this.

Mine was 19 months old when I sold it, collect new one in March.
Does this mean you won't talk to me again Den? :(

No Georgie. Unlike the frenchy guy, Im likely to bump into you occasionally, and you might hit me.
Anyway, the way you and yer man ride they things, youve probably worn them out already !!

Machine Cat,

Don't worry about those poor bastids that have to stick with their toys for a long time... :D :D

Fact is, a bike is never a sound investment... It's a money pit, and that's a fact. If you feel it's time for a new one, and you have the chance to do it - just go for it.

"Regret things you've done and not things you didn't do" Life's too short anyway. :D

You were right. Best offer I got was 3500 euros
Way too expensive... I guess it was not such a good idea.

...I asked when the bike was in for its 18k service.....it was going to cost me £4k for a new one. Funnily enough I'm keeping my current one for a while longer. :D
