Same as anywhere else; don't take the biscuit; avoid Sundays, for anything other than keeping 'em peeled and legal. Keep it off the main roads for the interesting bits.
There's plenty of good roads up here; to the East (WearDale etc); then a bit further South (Dales etc); a bit further North (Scotland) for a quick bombing run and back.
Only problems compared to down South is the weather and being nearly 400 miles from France.
I miss hustling the bike through London at times; not enough traffic to play with at times up here.... oh what a shame
or thereabouts my better-halfs parents are there and mine are in Aberdeenshire so moving about 5 hours closer to them as well is a welcome bonus should be there sometime in the next three months or so (wife,s notice period)
so if any one knows of anyone looking for a Class one driver in the area let us know

Cumbrian on GS 650 attempting to get out weekends. Have a couple of off road runs available - tracks green lanes - happy to share/indicate the way when ever I can. My wife also has 650 (both of us having a great time in Isle of Man recently) so very happy to get a ride out at some stage.
Based: Kendal.
Kendal lady would you be happy to meet up with my wife?
Hopefully meet at some stage - all?
GS er Sellafield interested to know what's you doing over there as some time get across there on the bike working.
Long live the Cumbrians that are based in the North East - that's very bizzare!
