OriginalGSer, whatever his motives, provokes more responce than yet another thread on how someones managed to get an 5w of headlamp brightness.
Even though everyone pretends they hate threads by people like Joyseeker,Bigbore2004,etc,they do liven up the debates.
Try questioning peoples braking abilities and watch a dull,wet afternoon pass quickly by.

When it rains in the morning my first thought is "Gonna get wet cycling to work today", not "Better get the LandRover out today."
If you want to see divisions, just look at LandRovers, they can argue over the placing of a 'Z' on a badge!
My G20 doesn't sit well with some as that number was already used for a stillborne F1 car!
What is wrong with some one just wanting a new bike? I wanted a new bike, but one that would not depreciate like a 'Rice Burner' GPZSCX11000000 or whatever the latest incarnation is called.
No at the end of the day, I wanted something that stands out from the crowd (didn't really realise just how big the GS crowd was) but was an upright seating position, and capable of coping with some rough country lanes with the odd pothole in the tarmac, whilst still having the room for my camping gear... and not running out of steam on the first hill it tried to get up!
Just in case the OG fellow is reading this, Ewan did make me think about BMW (but an F650GS) as my first bike, then BMW wanted less money than some wanted for a 600 sports bike!
On the flip side I also went to KTM, who must be killing themselves for not supplying their bikes! Oh, the KTM was twice the price on the insurance!
I made up my name because there could already be someone named Tony or Anthony who could already have used that name? How difficult would it be is you had 12 users all called Bob?
