I think this has been a fantastic thread, genuine or not

A nice bit of fishing, perfectly bated :clap

though not as entertaining as the Dr ABS thread or 'Best adventure handgun' on Advrider :)

Fanum,
Close but no cigar. If you had a brain you still wouldn't be dangerous.
Having successfully shown up the quality and quantity of twats that have hijacked this site my job is complete.
And, as it says in the instruction manual "thoroughly check the motorcycle for safety before every ride".

Now have a look at the "Security Alert" thread
Needless to say I was referring to the first post in this thread - I've no need to read security type threads because I too have a Mac (not been run out of Glasgow yet though!).

This person has some rather serious mental health issues. No joke. Bitter and twisted, rejection, paranoia, and a grudge. He's an attention seeker who delves into his history and spurts it out as bitterness and rejection. The thread was written to upset and antagonise under the umbrella of anonymity. He is everything he believes we are, but without acceptance or approval. He no doubt abuses his wife and children because they are the only people he has power over. Which is what he seeks. The man is a loser who is using the forum as a pathetic punch-bag for his out of control life. Probably lives on his own or distances himself from his family due to a seige mentality.

Like I said. Every thread by him confirms it.

I test rode the 1200gs to get the idea out of my head. The idea was planted by having read the glowing tributes paid to it by the motorcycle press, whom I always take with a pinch of salt (nice way of saying bunch of :censor::censor::censor::censor::censor::censor:s). A 160 mile test ride sold me on the thing, I did not want to take it back to the dealer. I paid a deposit that day and ordered most of the trimmings to go with the bike. I picked the bike up one year ago and have put 11,000 miles on it since then, touring Norway, a couple of french trips, plus miles of back lanes. I love the machine. Only troubles have been squeaky and juddery brakes, fixed under warranty.
My motorcycle gear is nearly all new BMW stuff, the Santiago suit and system five helmet being the best I have owned in 35 years of biking.
All motorcycling gear/bikes are compromises, but for today I feel I have the compromise that best suits me.
Funnily enough the BMW clothing seems to work just as well on my 650 Transalp and when holidaying in the Dolomites with my wife, who also wears a BMW suit, on our CB1300 and Hedingham SS sidecar outfit.

I have a simple philosophy, if you ride a bike and did'nt nick it, you are all right by me.

Cheers

I'm still waiting OGser...and believe me, this ain't going away.

There are three ways this could be seen......and you have three options as far as I'm concerned...

1) It was a drunken silly post and I've misinterpreted it....you weren't threatening me in what you said in which case I'd like you to explain what you meant.....

2) It was an implied threat and you retract it and apologise....I'll accept it and we'll carry on as normal...

3) You threatened me, made a very big mistake and have vastly underestimated what you're dealing with......then it becomes very personal very quickly and I'll deal with it.

Which is it OriginalGSer???

The ball's in your court and I'd advise you to think very carefully about it.

You have my phone number if you so wish.

Personally I think that it is now time to "close" the thread off, it is starting to get a little to involved, interesting I admit, but to involved.

It is fair to add that WE all enjoy the benefit of freedom of speech, take away that benefit and you might as well close down all the forums.

At the end of the day we all have one thing in common otherwise why would we be on here in the first place?

As I suggested, lets just stop the thread NOW but leave it viewable for all to see, if nothing else it does make interesting reading in places but you do have to skip over some of the crap in order to get to it, but hey thats life isnt it?

Its now time to move on, let it rest.............lets just ride our bikes :moped:

I agree. Fanum, don't let him get to you. He's a bitter and twisted loner and everything he writes is to strike at the heart of what we enjoy. I know it's a bit fascist, but I'd rather see him banned and the whole lot removed. Then his IP put on show for his home address or cafe to be located, so he can then be hunted down like a dog. He can then be dragged away from the safety of his computer ( lives with Mum no doubt ) and made to wear a Turgeg outfit and tour x whilst parading round town (looking in windows) on a super-clean GSA with full luggage, for all to see. Then shot :thumb

I think that this is no more than a cry for help from ORGgsr.

He needs human love and affection thats all :bounce1
