Jim this is getting a bit old hat, ambushing every post. I know you have had a bad experience with your 1150GS, but they are not all bad.

PS how you can be so sure of the Tiger after half a days test ride, perhaps its the trade in value of £3700 with the massive mileage of 6000 miles at two years old that makes the Tiger appeal to you, I don’t think so.

Don't forget the oil seal failures on the gearbox ruining the clutch and the ABS brakes that fail for any unrelated reason or the suspension that bottoms out due to poor components and the rear wheel bearings and of course the fuel pump plc that stops the pump and lots more little pleasures to look forward to.

The Tiger is a much better motor, has a slipper clutch, the brakes work, its just as capable off road with the right tyres, the heated grips are better, anything else you need, yes forgot it comes with the panniers, oh and its £3000 less, so is the Caponord.
Wait for the 2007 Tiger though,due June 2006, a new design with the 1050 triple motor allegadly.

Bob, you`re talking to someone that`s owned a GS, the gearbox is better? At what exactly? going wrong?

I`ve ridden the old sprint and a Tiger and I find the gearboxes in a different league to the Beemers. Much, much better. I was only enquiring as to the off-road abilities of the Tiger.
I checked on one of the Triumph sites and there was a bloke from yorkshire who owns a Sprint ST and a 1200 GS, I`m waiting for him to reply to me and maybe he`ll be more objective, as you seem to have a bit of an ingrained dislike of Triumph.
I`m not blinded by Brand loyalty, I`m just calling it how I see it.

I'm sorry, didn't Bob answer your question as you asked it? If you cant acept the answer don't ask! It seems you are desperately seeking someone here to confirm your own perception that BM's are crap. Some have, most won't. You seem to be no further forward
