Theres something about a Guzzi that attracts me ,not sure why. For instance look at that bloody great lump of engine/box in the Dr John photo.

Dr John

It's just great to see that Gsers aren't afraid to expose their passion of other marques !!!...First of all, lets get this straight !!! My loyal and most dependable friend since 98 has been my trusty 75th Anniversary 1100GS, which soon will have 80k faultless miles clocked up mostly round Europe, and plans for many more, .....and I think the first oilhead still takes some beating !!........... I actually feel that GSes do their job so well that riding becomes all about the journey, roads ,sites and scenery !!..................now...
Guzzies, and most especially loud and breathed on ones like the Dr John, have a base V twin sound and character thats so soulful, you'll never remember the sites or the scenery,.....all you'll remember is the Guzzi and your precious time spent on it.
....But i also love my GS. The two bikes are different animals for different roles...............the Dr John is a real animal !!

Dr Johns

aren't they all hand assembled in the guzzi *race shop*, and filled with lovely polished con rods and such, so they are as lovely on the inside as out?

i really shoulda bought one :blast

Welcome along John. :thumb2

I well remember a day several years ago when John was balancing the TBs on my GS and fired up the Guzzi. As we stood talking in the garage she migrated three feet across the floor. :eek A lovely looking and sounding bike.

How ye Aiden, I know you have an auld soft spot for the Guzzis, I'm hoping to unleash the black beast a lot more next year. those charity runs are great craic.
........Would be great for us to get out and let ye get a good run on the Dr !!!
try and get some gym work on your left wrist.........Real man clutch !!!!

It will be no problem Aidan..........looking forward to it.
Think I'm gonna head up to GS in Ballymena over the holidays as they are now the Guzzis agents and have the big new California on show.
Now better stop rambling on bout Guzzis...........and my GS hat on !!! :JB

I have been doing a little to my Ambo since getting it, sorting out the wiring, sorting out the oil leak, giving it a service etc. Also doing some silly stuff, like replacing the tank cap for the correct cool one, and changing the grips for the two tone black and whites :thumb

The next job on the list is the clutch, the action is diabolical, and very hard to find a gear, but I shall sort it for the spring. Then it will be time to sonic clean the Dellorto's, and fit the rebuild kits I have sitting here.

Roll on Summer.

So tomorrow I shall attempt to adjust the clutch, I have a new cable to fit, but the snatchyness is more than just cable related, so I shall have a play and see what comes up. I hate having a bike here and not riding it.:thumb

Spent the morning playing with the Guzzi, gave it some Ambo decals on the battery box sides, and I fitted the christmas present I bought it, in the shape of a new correct fuel cap. I then fitted the new clutch cable and adjusted it up, but it is no better than the old one in action, so I may jhave to dig deeper:confused:
