Well iv done the deed, got myself an 06 1200 gsa, still got the 650 Dakar but i feel all grown up now i have a big boy bike, or will have when the check clears!!!
So i will be needing a few tips re my new toy, first what are the essential purchases?, it has no panniers so i think they may be first on the list, any recomendations????
Will post pics soon, it has quite a few miles on it 39000!, so what should i check ? It rides great and its previous handler was a motorcycle cop and has used it wisely.... any tip very welcome...

well done

had mine 2 years done 24k (2006 GSA)
the more milage on the bike the better it runs
mods
HID's - 1 x 50w main
1 x 50w dipped
2 x 35w in spots
Mr Wassell is the main man
go to BMW and get there 2009 LED indicators and retro fit them
visit Nippy Normans and get the LED back light (clear lens)
get the BMW Ally Panniers - will make people over take you more safely
also will protect the bike if you drop it while doing a slow manouvre
put on the stebile horn (sorry this looks wrong spelling)
search for 2wheelhumvee and get his excellent GSA reflective stickers
use scotch 3m reflective tape 1" wide for the edges of the panniers
take those horrible olive panels off and spray them black
get a wunderlect lifting handle - superb for a fully loaded touring bike
get a touratech head light protector (new one costs )
get a fender extender
make sure that bit of foam behind the front engine panel is removed
try to get the extended warranty for £300.00 +
make sure it hasnt got the old BUMW rear brake pads in it
look out for a nice BMW badge that goes in the frame by your feet (off ebay)
buy shit loads of cleaning gear - look after it and really enjoy it
if anythings not clear just drop me a PM
stay safe
oh yea what ever u do
DONT GET A TWAT SUIT :thumb
and dont forget to wave to HD riders :D

Take no notice of them...they're just jealous....

Now get your cheque book out and buy a T suit:D

Take no notice of him, he's just trying to justify wasting 000's of pounds on 450lb of lemon :D:D:D

(not jealous, but don't stress, it'll be a great bike......honest :augie:augie)

Enjoy the bike ! most of the tossers on here who knock the 12 GSA are short arses who dont want to look like the ''vicar getting on his bike'' to ride off...

same script for the Rallye 2 Pro - great bit of kit... short arses need not apply also...

Just remember - if you had bought any of the others you may have needed,

1. a Pipe and slippers :rob

2. labotomy :pullface

3. Wham T shirt and garry Glitter boots :ymca

4. something to suppress the need to buy a 12 ! :drool

its the way forward and by far the better bike :thumb2:thumb2 enjoy !:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

tank panels

i wanted the white GSA :D
but got the silver one
i call em olive but they are light goldy colour :eek:
