Well maybe builder is the wrong word and OTT for what I need doing
I want to increase the width of my drive just a little bit, well 2' to be exact. Its only so when the car is parked right next to the edging stone you can get out without stepping on the garden.
So I need to lay 12 off 2' x 2' flags along the length of the drive.
My problem is that the level of my drive is roughly 18" higher than next doors, but only for about 15' of its length, then they are near enough the same level. And its my drive that is the level one, well a slight fall away from the garage.
The border width between the drop and the edge of my drive is around 3'.
At the moment there are some 4 x 4 wooden posts concreted into the ground with half section log roll fastened to them, to hold back the soil.
So to avoid any possible problems in the future, I basically need to have a small brick wall built, about six courses high above ground level, then have it stepped down to nothing by the time it reaches the end of the drive.
Not the hardest job in the world, and I am quite happy to do all the ground work preparation.
But having tried to lay bricks before, I know when to admit defeat
Any thoughts to somone that you might know?
