Why are waterproof Summer gloves so hard to come by:blast Surely it should not be beyond the resources of the clothing manufacturers to make a lightweight, cool and waterproof pair of gloves, it's not as if it only rains in the feckin' Autumn and Winter in this country.

Another frustrating day instructing in the glorious English Summer with soaking wet hands and gloves.

Can anybody recommend me a decent pair before I develop webbed fingers....ta:thumb

RUKKA APOLLO

£159 but a man of your means ..

Sunny one for most my days instructing today but know what you mean, trying to press radio buttons, indicators etc with thick waterproof gloves is a pain.
I use an old pair of Gortex BMW Atlantis (?) gloves, the ones with a wiper on the left finger.

Did you mean these:

These are gore-tex lined, have the wiper on the left index finger and are plenty thin enough for really good feel of the controls. I've been using mine for 40+K miles, including most of the winter. :thumb2

Those are the Pro Summer (used to be called 'Summer Rain' glove). The Atlantis are all-leather.

Only just bought mine....but although they are built like a summer glove with no bulk, they are suprisingly warm when need to be....no,read that as 'amazing how warm they are'... and no leaks yet.

Alpinestars do a slightly bulky, but summer race glove that is waterproof I believe, although I've never used them....and they are expensive..more expensive than the Rukka Apollo I believe.

I wear thin chamois type gloves all year round. Combined with handguards and heated grips it's very rare I have cold hands.

When it rains I use Tesco fuel station diesel overgloves. Grab a handful every so often and stash in dash cubby-hole.
100% waterproof and don't slip on grips and FREEEEEE!!!!

:thumb2 for the BMW Pro Summer Gloves
thin & waterproof + the inner lining does'nt pull out!

I have these - the Alpinestars 365s. They're basically the GP race gloves but with Goretex. They're great, liner does not come out, great fit and good feel. Could be cooler, but anything waterproof is going to have to do without vents.

Got them at Hein Gericke when they had 25% off, would struggle to justify them at full price though.

I've used Alpinestars Drystar ST1 gloves for years. Used them in the Alps in summer. Great feel, able to operate the Garmin touchscreen.

J&S stock them. Mine are the ST1 but I think they have an ST3 out now. J&S have both in stock according to http://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/js-accessories-shop.aspx?attributes=manufacturer&values=alpinestars but the ST1 is in red only. ST1 are under £30 which is great value. ST3 are £15 more but you can have them in black. Seems the ST3 has the fake leather replaced with real stuff.

I have got a pair of the BMW summer gloves which I have only worn once or twice - I find them a tad small for me so if Lord Snooty is interested and would like me to dig them out I would be open to let them go for a 'consideration'. Can't recall what size exactly but larger rather than smaller in size . I have very large hands and always struggle to find gloves big enough for me - these aren't quite big enough to be comfortable for any duration. Condition is as new.... if I can find out which box they are in ;)
