I have an 1100GS with a 17" alloy wheel + 120/70/17 road tyre. It still has the standard jumbo sized front mudguard which now looks a bit daft.

I've been led to beleive that the front mudguard off a R1100R will fit. Is this true? it seems to have similar if not the same front forks.

If not, any aftermarket alternatives?

Anyone got a s/hand R1100R jobby, preferably black, or know where I can get one?

I still fancy sticking an 1100S mudder on my 1150. Needs quite a bit of sorting tho' Should get off my fat backside and look more closely at this idea.

Any engineers out there who work cheap??

someone must know if an r1100r front guard can be coerced into fitting..............................................anyone?..............................................hello?.............................(FX- sound of tumbleweed passing by)

I had the same problem, I eventually gave up and had to fit peice of tat. I know it spoils the look but sometimes youve got to just fit what you have lying around

here is a pic

Gloat? I wouldn't put that piece of carbon crap on my GS if they gave me money. You ought to be ashamed. Buy an R1 or something. You're not worthy.

The r1100s guard would fit, but the front of the GS sliders do not have lugs cast on them . This could be overcome by using suitably sized exhaust clamps. I was going to do this before I was sold mine by the lovely Barry.

Reprobate, you................. reprobate. I am in love with my front mudguard, so by insulting it, you are insulting me. My honour has been tarnished, therefore I must challenge you to a duel.

Den,
Drop Metalman a line as he has a front guard fitted to his and running a 17" wheel, cannot remember where he bought it hope this helps

on http://www.advrider.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3 about 2 or 3 years ago were pictures of a ladies 1998 R1150GS anniversary model in Holland or Belguim that had a R1100RT front guard on it from memory.

if u go to site and ask member BAFANA who is in Belgium he may be able to point u in the right direction

u can do a search but it will take a while
