The car kit that comes with the Zumo is a suction thing and this time of the year it doesn't like to 'suck' for long and drops off :augie (too cold to get a good seal).
Does anyone know of a car kit that doesn't rely on suction?

I'm hoping to find something that isn't using a suction cup affair.
With my old IPAQ I used to have a clip on system which never failed.

I think if you look there are vent clip ones for sale on ebay.usa. And, have you read the items description on the link I posted?

I dislike vent clips as they often sit in front of the air vent, as they restrict airflow or subject the device to adverse hot or cold air.

If you're using RAM parts from the box and want to this mother to suck, then RAP-224-1 a 3.25" twist lock suction cup with diamond base RAM-B-238 then use parts from bike to car. Similar options are twist body suction cup mount, RAP-B-166-1 .

I don't mind vent clips as I prefer to have the satnav below the windscreen line rather than in front of it as it restricts viewing and also people behind can see it.

looks good, although they don't say how it actually works so I have emailed them.

dead easy... its a 'pillow' with a plastic disc on top.
you sit the 'pillow' on the dash ( one would assume that the base is non slip) then settle the sat-nav onto the disc.

I suggest that you look in the box that the Zumo came in. In there you should find a disc that sticks/glues itself to the top of your dash. You then use the suction mount onto that. As it's not sucking onto a cold windscreen it should stay put better........maybe.
