Sorry in my excited state I didn't realise I hadn't said what I was picking up.

It's an '06 R1200GS, granite grey, 4000m... and I can't wait...:bounce1

Only 1hour 45minutes left to wait...:D

A very nice morning to pick up your new bike, hope you enjoy your first run on it. Make sure you dont get lost coming back to Amble, I did coming back to Longfram on mine and ended up doing 190 miles :bounce1:bounce1

Enjoy, as it's 08.30am I know you won't see this until 10pm when you get back home;)

:D:D:D:D :bounce1 Morning :bounce1 :D:D:D:D

I did about 350 miles this weekend bimbling about.. It was brilliant.

Two small incidents marred an otherwise superb weekend.

Picked bike up at 10:00am (you can't shift SWMBO before 9:30.. :( ) and rode off into the distance.. Took a little getting used to I can tell you but the upright command riding position is MEGA!!

Came back home, took off panniers, got a bite to eat then shot off out again. My brother came with me on his suzuki intruder (what can I say!). Anyway, too cut a long story short, we got back to amble about 15:30 and I decided to put the panniers back on and put her away, only to find that the pannier "lug" had vibrated off...:( I checked the other side and it was only finger tight... Quick call to Coopers and they apologised and said if I popped back in they'd take one of the other bikes and give me it. What a bummer... Another chance to ride the bike :D:D

Sunday, Me and my brother went up to rothbury and then decided to go up to otterburn, however just as we left rothbury the weather started to get a bit grim and I decided that we'd head back for my brothers safety (he'd already had a couple of "moments" riding up (his back tyre is as wide as a small car). So I turned into a national park car park to turn around.... BIG MISTAKE.. Gravel car park..... I managed to stop and with all my might managed to not have to lay her down...:o (We both had pillions, forgot to mention that).. Only to hear a horn go and I turned around and saw my brothers bike lying on it's side... :(

We managed to pick his bike up and because we were going so slow he'd only scuffed a small plastic undertray bit. We both reckon it would polish out :)

So we headed back home around 15:00 to watch the toon nick points of ManU :bounce1

After the match took her out of the garage and gave her a damn good seeing to  Brilliant..

Oh, and I've spotted some corrosion below that black front doobly-wotsit on the engine...:( Not sure what it's called and the bolts holding the metal cover are a bit furred. :( I'll have them off and refit with stainless.:)

I expect there's more corrosion behind that plastic doofer. :(

All in all, a fantastic weekend that felt like it lasted twice as long.:clap

Doh!! :blast you actually did it!:bounce1

Kool!!:thumb

You rode it, broke it, fixed it, and I expect you'll ride it some more!:augie:D

PS Get the corrosion done on warrenty! then remove the silly sponge thing from behind the black plastic doobry.

Is the corrosion a warranty item.

I'll have a look trough the other forums on here and see what others have done. I can't be the only one with this issue.

BTW, anyone know what the doobly-wotsit is called ( the black plastic cover ) and the metal cover it "protects"..

yes it is a warrenty item see other posts on here
the front engine case corrodes as there is a sponge behind the black plastic engine cover which holds the water so it is best to take the cover off and take the sponge out
