I was a little over zealous and left swirl marks on the screen :o . Any ideas on how to polish them out. They are not deep just surface. Alternatively anybody got a screen to sell. Thanks in advance :thumb

There's stuff called Plexus which is used for aircraft canopies which is pretty good. However, you'll just scratch it again and if you buy another one that'll probably just get scratched as well. Forget it and just ride the bike.

If the scratches are only minor, use Duraglit (the metal polish wadding in a tin).
It has worked for me in the past.

Wot he said! I scratched my GSA screen the week after I bought it by cleaning between the screen & the silver plastic that covers the rear of the instrument panel. I bought a brand new screen from this site, but now daren't fit it as I know it will just happen again

Draglits good, but if you dont have that ive used T Cut with great effect!
Its basically just a very very fine rubbing compound and will remove any scrapes that are not too deep.
Mind you it will give you arms like Arnie!!! :D :D :thumb

Try polishing them out with toothpaste, seriously, it contains a mild abrasive and often does the trick. :thumb

Careful!

My guess is that everyone has done this (or nearly everyone). :mmmm

I am not sure that T-Cut is suitable. Don't use it on the plastic paint either. It can be very harsh on the wrong surface.

Toothpaste? I can see the point. Try it on a small area first and let us know. :nenau

Otherwise, it looks like we need to find a polish god (from poland?) :bounce1

Skip.

I did exactly the same as you

after many attempts i used normal autoglym polish
it has almost no abrasive in it and after about 10 'goes' the scrathes were almost gone.
I agree with previousl post be carefull with T cut, it has a lot of Amonia in it could end up giving more problems

Brasso :thumb I tried it on a 2nd hand screen & was very surprised. Don`t rub too hard though

"Plexus" is good, I use it on my microlight windshield and it gets bugs off without scratching and leaves a good smear free finish.
For more heavily scratched surfaces (like the back window of a sports car) I have used a product called "Xerapol" and it has got rid of some quit deep scratches and left a milky rear screen quite clear.
It's a plastic polish for Acryl-and Plexiglas. :thumb
The instructions say it's for use on acrylic baths, acrylic glass furniture, caravan windows, aircraft and boat windows. The instructions are in several languages but the product seems to be made in Germany.
I bought this tube in Halfords and it was £6.95 for 50g.
"Kratzer- Entferner " is written on the front of the package
Anyone speak German?

scratches

Try any local caravan dealer, loads of cheap pastes that really work - ask any caravanner - or maybe not, just buy the stuff, £5 tops for a big tube.
