Hi All,
Not having a garage any more I useually keep the bike under cover but with the nice weather I've just left her sat out on the drive basking in the sunshine.
The house does have some trees around the drive and so, when I noticed the seat being sticky, I naturally thought it was the orible sugary sappy stuff that falls from the trees during the spring and summer months. No problem, I'll just wash it off.
Used a little Muck Off and, sure enough, it was fine. I then moved the bike over to the west wing of the house where the trees couldn't drip there ickey stuff on my p&j.
Came out about an hour later to go for a ride and, booger! The bloody seat is all tacky again! Perhaps I didn't clean it all off like I thought I did, me thinks and does it again.... and again.... and again.... and a-bloody-gain!
Ive tried Muck Off, Halfords Tar & Bug remover, Fairy Liquid, Mr Sheen, Swarfega, Brake cleaner and WD40! all seem fine when first washed and all fail to remove, or stop, the seat going stick when its dry.
So, now I know its not the trees and I'm wondering if its the actual material of the seat itself reacting to the sunlight!
Now wondering if anybody else has had this problem?
Cheers,
MM
