Idiot's guide to LED ABS fault code reader?

Hi All,

Could anyone give me a quick step by step guide to getting the fault codes off my 2000 R1150GS ABS? I have connected an LED to the pin and to earth but all I get is a steady light so maybe I'm not carrying out the correct steps?
Something like the following would help:

1) connect LED
2) turn on ignition
3) hold ABS button down for 20 seconds
Etc
Etc

You are resetting the fault codes this way.
Don't hold ABS button down.
Just wait for fault codes to flicker in the LED with ignition ON.

Hi, thanks. I know that is the procedure for resetting the fault codes, I just meant to use it as an example of how it would be good to get the instructions for reading the codes.

I did what you have described but I just get a constant light, no flickering!

You don't have any recognizable fault code ON then.

I found a very helpful local garage with the right lead and the fault code is for the plunger failure. Considering I've stripped, cleaned and bled the ABS unit 3 times now I guess it's dead!
