Just want to say a big thank you to all the guys at Hilltop... I've been home over an hour and I'm still grinning. We have to go to Weymouth tomorrow and we were going to go in the car - but I want to play again

:D :bounce1 :tigger

Go get your bike "Hilltopped" you WILL NOT regret it!

I forgot to say... not only did it add the best part of 20 horses, it has decreased my (sensible riding) fuel consumption. On the way up there, M40 steady 70-80 = 49MPG average. On the way back, country roads across the Cotswolds and giving it yahoo where traffic allowed = 58MPG

I've no doubt that giving it big beans everywhere, it would decrease but still, results like that won't take that long to pay for itself

That's an impressive improvement, however max power 101 seems a bit low for a bike that is meant to have 125bhp to start with? I know 125 is not at the wheel but you don't usually lose nigh on 25 bhp from drive to the wheel.
Regardless , that's a sizeable increase. May have to look at it with mine.

You forgot to factor in the BMW marketing mens lies about its BHP

Those figures are pretty much the same as all the bikes that have been to Hill top

Bike magazine had between 115 and 117 on the 1200 LC bikes it tested.

The TC engined Scrambler pushed 101

llways rumoured that the bikes Journos get are in some way tweaked a bit. I seem to recall hearing that Geoff had allegedly remapped a few LCs before their official launch and an XR or 2 .......

Who knows :nenau

He had one of this years new sports bikes 3 months before they were released.

Does this do anything for the smoothness of the delivery or the general running of the bike?, it looks like it should, but how it feels is hard to tell from a graph. I've just bought one, and compared to the 4 cylinders I'm used to the GSs are a bit gruff.

Thanks

James

Before going to Hilltop, it had just the HP Akra.
TI headers fitted on arrival and BEFORE the first DYNO run. Other than that it's stock other than farkles outside the powertrain

That makes sense. The Akra and TI headers would have LOST power and torque on a standard map.

Then you will have gained HP and Torque after the remap.

Interestingly, looking at other STANDARD unmodified bikes, after a remap the figures are almost identical to a modified exhaust setup.

Conclusion being, although Akra can and TI headers are less weight, the power gain is minimal.

You've probably noticed the two bloody big horizontally opposed cylinders sticking out, thumping away like um....er.... a boxer in the ring.... as opposed to your previous quite small four pistons whizzing up and down like a fiddlers elbow? If not, go and have a look.

The bike is so heavy in the first place, and its form factor, I wouldn't bother with exhaust upgrades.

Waste of money, in my opinion.
