Ignition Key coming out

Filling up the other day and noticed the ignition key comes out of the barrel when switched on, its got the top box key and alarm fob on it, bike has 88k up it.

not really a problem, I do a it of off road occasionally that gets a bit rough and hasn't come out yet,

something to keep an eye on though, will try the unused spare see if that sorts it

oh its an 05.

If you are worried, you could always put the key in your pocket whilst riding, would save you from losing it.

Im not worried at all, just the heads up for others,

I think the key has to be in the black ring to read the chip init though.

You could always fit a lanyard to your key ring and attach it to the handlebars

Start it up, leave in neutral and pull the key out.

Start it up, put it in gear, ride it and whilst riding, pull the key out.

Both possibilities covered.

You'll find out what (if anything) happens and you won't have to guess

It would be a pain to restart when it stalls in traffic.

Get a new lock and transfer the ID chip to the new key blade. In future use a carabena to avoid having any other keys pulling on the ignition key.
