Has anybody experienced this?
Stopped off on the way home tonight, turned the key off and it kept on running for about 30 seconds then stopped. Curious to see what would happen I started it again, then tried to stop the engine but it continued to run as before then stopped.
Phoned the dealers. They told me they could book it in on Thursday if I could get it there, but if it needed diagnostic work they couldn't lend me a bike overnight because of insurance restrictions, but if I phoned BMW assist they would recover the bike and sort me me out with a hire car. Ok say assist, but our BMW technicians have all gone home now ( 7.00pm) so a local recovery agent will collect the you and bike and deliver it to dealers tomorrow, but to arrange a hire vehicle they need a credit card number from me for security. I tell them me and mrs bone have just come back from usa and run our cards up to limit on uncle sams double your money bonanza,so no they cant have a card number. Assist refuse to supply car.
Recovery man appears 1hr later (its pi**ing down) and asks if bike will start to run up car recovery truck ramp, which it does, but then refuses to stop even when I walk away with key in hand (so much for immobiliser). The last I saw of it was strapped down across the seat (which was deforming) happily idling.
