Anyone know how you get the ignition wires out of the bottom of the ignition switch? I can see a red dot on the side of it, is there a screw or something behind it?

Jukin remove the Red dot with a very small screw driver or similar.
and behind that quite deep down, the very small hole is a Allan key head
remove the very small Allan key screw and the bottom of the ignition will drop off.
Be careful when removing the screw if you drop it you won't find it again
Once the ignition wires is repaired or swapped you can re-seal the hole with some silicon or wax :thumb

Did mine a few years ago, quite easy.

It's not an allan head - it's a small screw that requires a very small flat blade screwdriver.

Just did mine this week - two wires broke and the bike died (fortunately just as I got home) and the unit needed replacing. I could have bodged the wires together but I reckon this is a pretty fundamental bit of the electronics and I don't want it to fail again. Switch here in Ireland was €70 plus €0.50 for the screw (which I didn't need!). Scrape off the red stuff and a small jeweler's screwdriver will do the job. I found that I did not need to unscrew it completely to get the switch to drop out and the new one slotted in quite easily.

Cheers,

Psyko
