Agreed the price on this baby yesterday. She'll be with me in a few weeks and needs a bit of a service and TLC before she hits the road.

Looking forward to getting the spanners and the Haynes out.

Oh and I paid the membership for this year finally. :D

how long was it sat in his shed???

looks ok bit of plastic adjustment..........

My mate has her since May but the previous owner didn't look after her at all other then servicing the engine. She'll be stripped fully and sprayed where needed and all plastics will be fixed up but hope to keep the original colour scheme. Fingers crossed. :thumb

why not get a standard decal set for the front fairing and fit a rallye style front fairing from rugged roads

She looks a bit of a mess overall but the plastics are good and once you clean her up you will have a beauty of a machine. www.ebay.de the german ebay is a good source of parts for the AT.
How does the Lazer exhaust sound on that baby. Would you think its a good sound for long distance or not ?

Thanks for the link. Would have thought to look there for bits.

Haven't heard the bike yet as its down south at the minute. Cann't wait though. But ear plugs do wonders for noise. :-)

i have the lazer, its bit loud when revving but once in a cruise its nice and low so ideal can. helps make people know your around when in town but wont kill your ears at speed

german ebay

the german ebay is a good source of parts for the AT.
the parcel postage seems to be about 17 Euro with DHL or half the amount as a small parcel.
there are other courier alternatives , Hermes, GLS.
The post office has other rates for large envelopes.
you often have to 'advise' about the best rate to the seller.
however, often the seller will not post outside of the FRG, unless you contact them first with the posting/charges details.

Talk to the owner today to inform him I could now take dslivery of the twin. He told me he'll be with me in a couple of days. No later then Friday.

Child-Christmas! :D

...Eric take lots of photos which will help with reassembly, also try to get a workshop manual they come up from time to time on ebay.co.uk . Finally if you want a diode for the fuel pump fix shown on this page I've got a few to spare lying around http://www.xrv.org.uk/forums/africa-twin/44700-fuel-pump-recap.html. Anybody else needs one let me know, I had to buy 20 for €4 to do the fix myself.

Thanks for the tips lads. Engine is out since yesterday so work is going to start on the engine in the next few days. Saddle is back from being recovered. Ordered the new decals with a colour change to original as the bike colour is changing. (top secret). :-) Hopefully I'll order the new paint in the next few days. Rear wheel is to be painted tomorrow and I'll hopefully start on the rads oil cooler ect tomorrow to.

Here's a few pics so far.

First day I got her went for a short spin around the block just to see what worked and what didn't.

Then it was back to the lock up to take a few pics and start stripping her for the engine repairs and freshen up.
