I'm new here and I have a few questions

I have a R1150GS since last week,before I drove a K75,K1100RS and since I was 18 a Vespa,2Yamaha's Xs650,XJR1300,Honda CX500,Suzuki TS250,Ducati 907,Norton 850Commando"roadster"
But now my dream came true,a real Boxer,GS1150 in Grapith grey with a black engine,full option exept ABS and 66.000km I bought this bike for 5000€ what is very cheap here in Belgium
But the front fork have some dammage of winter riding and stone picking,
Do you have sugestions,the alu pieces I wil let it powder coating,but the legs are blue coated,is there something I can do to repainting,or otherwise to polich them so it's clear alu??
I dont know how I can post pictures here,and I excuse myself for my bad english,I hope you can read it!!

Hi Frank,welcome to the site.Dont worry about your English-perfectly understandable.
I guess a Mod will be along soon to move your post to the "introduce yourself" section.
As for the finish,most people simply clean and paint the affected parts with either silver Hammerite or alloy wheel spray paint from an auto store.

Hi Frank,

As Colban says, smooth Hammerite silver or Smoothrite as it's called is the thing you need to restore the finish. Use a Dremel or similar to remove the corrosion and paint or spray the Smoothrite on. Even if you clean religiously and use various winter spray, the alloy on the fork brace and fork leg lowers gets all furry!

Sorry,for the wrong place I put my first post,I"am a user of the flemish BMW
Motor Club Vlaanderen and also a member and I use a lot the Netherlands GS forum.
There it is an other way to use,so for me it's not simple to use this
but I hope it is getting better soon!
When I can put pictures on it it's a lot simpler to explain something for me,a picture says more than thoussend words,so I hope I can use them in the nearly future
Next week I gonna put an other tank on my bike,because this one have a little hump and it's cheaper to buy one in the same colour than to repair it and repainted it,so if there is someone intrested in my tank the damage is very little it's in graphitan grey let me know something!
In the future I gonna search for a "Remus" with Y pipe,alu panniers(is it the right word for the"plastic or alu suitcases" )
If there is someone with an magnesium valve cover(right side when you are on the bike) I wanna buy it if it's in a perfectly condition.
