I've just changed my tyres (Tourances) and I'm now getting a high frequency vibration through the pegs and seat (not the bars). Not enough to take it to the dealer but but enough to be annoying.

There may be no coincidence at all - or someone out there may know different. I was just looking at a thread on the 1150 Forum which indicated that this is a known Tourance problem. I never had it on my old 1150 which was always Tourance-shod but this is the first time I've had them fitted on my 1200 GSA.

Any pearls of wisdom :rob would be gratefully received.

Good point, however...

Are you sure the wheel's balanced???

.... it looks like they've been balanced as the mounting adhesive from where the weights were is still there and now we have some weights in other places. I left the bike while they did it so didn't actually observe the process.

Whether they balanced them correctly however......

On the tyre sidewall there will be a coloured dot which should be lined up with the valve before balancing the wheel

Dot was always supposed to show the heaviest part of tyre and is therefore positioned opposite the valve to even out the initial balance before weights are attached.

Impressive....

Dot was always supposed to show the heaviest part of tyre and is therefore positioned opposite the valve to even out the initial balance before weights are attached.

This site is a constant source of wonder.....:bow

However, there are two dots red dots on the tyre about half inch apart. They are near the valve, not opposite.

The site of the old weights were opposite the dots but whether through sloth or practicality, the new ones have been placed as near as poss to the old positions rather than removing the old crap and putting them on top.

So, this is sounding like a trip back to the tyre fitter.....:nenau

The valve stem is "not neccessarily" the heavy part of the wheel. A good tyre changer with first note the heavy spot, then fit the tyre & balance. Yes the dot has been standarised to be the lightest point on the tyre, just to challenge the oldtimers... :D

Dying to know

When all the dots are finally joined up :bounce1

Whats the drawing :D
