Hi All, for all those who have shown support for the stuff I make here is the latest offering - it`s a luggage rack extension for the R1200GS.

As usual I have tried to take an excellent item and improve on it - I am not that far up my own backside to think that I have actually improved on it nor am I one to slag off any other stuff (those who know me will hopefully agree) however here are some images and a brief overview of what I have tried to do:

Quite possibly the best one on the market at the moment is the one from the Jolly Chaps at TT. It`s a great bit of kit and hats off to them :bow

What I have done is to:

1. Increase the size of it, not by much, but to allow it to carry a little more.
2. Make it out of much more durable stainless steel which is stronger than the aluminium original.
3. Use, albeit much more expensive, machined stainless steel spacers to attach it to the OEM rack itself rather than the plastic ones on the TT option.
4. Offer it at a lower cost.
5. Still hand finish each one, to order, to get away from the `mass produced in China image` and yet still be able to offer a turnaround much quicker than TT can sometimes take (through no fault of their own).

Just to be clear - the cheaper price does not mean cheaper quality - indeed this is more expensive to manufacture than the TT option I am sure. I am simply doing it for less because what I do isn`t entirely driven by commercial pressures. And also, to be really clear, the TT one is fantastic and IMHO I`ve just tried to improve on a great product.

This will be on sale on my site not as a better product than the TT option, that`s for you guys to decide, but rather as an option to consider.

Regards,

Mark.

PS It`s shown fitted to my very own 2006 R1200GS which I love to bits (still on the original FD - eat your hearts out).

Mark, read the above, and looked on your site..... still can't see how much the new product will be ( for the benefit of the new fangled 1200 owners )

Hi Bryn, how ya doing?

Yeah, sorry, I was going to list it straight after but got locked out of my ecommerce site because the password was wrong..................

Not that it winds me up....................

:D

Oh, yes the price will be £60 :thumb and, personally, it`s not that much a better product (some kindly people may disagree) as the TT one is very good anyway and what I lack in ruthless business sense I make up in wine consumption and humility :bounce1

Mark

should manufacture some good looking engine protection bars everyone is looking for them like the TT one... but they actually fit, for sure you would sell loads.
