Well, for the second time this month my GS has been targeted by local youths and has been pushed off its center stand :mad:. Unfortunately I havent got a garage so it has to live outside. Damage on the face of it seems cosmetic ( smashed rear indicator, scratched cylinder head,broken mirror):thedummy

I've just ordered engine bars which I was meaning to buy anyway but I was just wondering if there is anyway of protecting the rear indicators in the event of a fall/push?

Thanks

Seeing that electrifying would be considered illegal, I would invest in CCTV & do the neighborhood some good...

I'm assuming you've got an 1150GS. If so, you could try fitting the Metal Mule rear indicator shortening kits, normally used when panniers fitted, but takes then closer into the bodywork (you basically lose the stub that the indicators fit on). They also do them for the front as well. Bonus is they look good too! If you need pics, let me know.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Yeah I've gone down the violent solution to the youth problem but instead reported it to the police, wont do any good but made me feel a bit better.:mcgun
I 've decided to buy a long chain to tie the bike up to a lamp post which should stop it being pushed over again.

Yes its a 1150, thanks for the link to the shorter indicator stalks that should sort it nicely.

Any chance of a pic? Just to compare with the original's?

Thanks

Another trick is to get a wire rope lock and string it around the center stand and through the front wheel. It's a hell of a sight harder to push it over sideways :thumb

Not a fantastic pic, but should give you some idea. Basically you lose the stub part that is between the indicator housing & the bike - They also do them for the front now, so I'll probably go for them as well ;
