07 1200, my indicators are self cancelling more the left at motorway speed so i am having hold the button, at low speed or waiting to turn at lights they work normally.
I think vibration is the culprit i have sprayed some switch cleaner in the switches and will try that tomorrow is there any thing else i can do short of replacing the switch units?

You realise the indicators are self-cancelling above walking speed by design John?

When stopped in a traffic queue they stay on but once rolling they should cancel after about 12 flashes. (On a motorway at 70mph you typically need to remake the left indicator for an exit slipway at the 100 yard marker.)

I believe that dealers can tweak the cancel times in software, perhaps a previous owner has had it adjusted ( assuming you haven't owned it from new)?

If it is definitely the switchgear at fault, do a forum search as I'm sure some folks had a problem with the rubber switch membranes in the past and somebody found a solution IIRC.

Yes dealers can alter it, or switch the auto-cancel function off altogether, on some years models at least, but it's a distance setting, not a timed function IIRC.

Yes dealers can alter the distance. In my opinion they switch off far too early. Especially when turning right. JJH
